Ok, someone wants me to help them write a resume for a high level managerial position. I have decent writing skills. I’ve done plenty of successful resumes for myself over the years as well as being a frequent user of my undergrad univ’s career center. I have picked up a lot of tidbits in this area. Anyway, what is a good price to charge?

How can I improve my interviewing skills?

March 29, 2010 by

I get really nervous on formal interviews, and I know that my have nerves cost me a lot of good jobs. I’m not good with talking about myself and how I can be an asset to a company. Is there a way I can improve my interviewing techniques?

And also, would it be a bad idea to tell the interviewer that I’m bad at interviews but, if given the chance, I could prove my skills and knowledge to them?

I want to start searching for a new job, but I don’t want to cause a huge blow to my attendance by taking off tons of time to interview. Has anyone ever conducted a successful job search without making it obvious at your current job? And how did you schedule the interviews around your work schedule? Thanks in advance for your replies.

I need to consult a service that specializes in writing top notch resumes. I have searched using Google and have not found anything. When interviewing what is the best way to inform other companies that you have received another job offer?

March 29, 2010 by

I want to move the process along with some of the other companies that I am interviewing with, but I don’t want them to feel like I am being too pushy. I received an offer, should I tell the other companies that I am interviewing with about it? I know that we’re coming up on the holidays and I really want to keep things moving forward and secure the best position for me quickly. Any professional advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Do you call the other companies or send them an email to inform them?
